Chatham Strong emerged as a powerful symbol of unity and resilience in Chatham, Illinois, following a tragic incident on April 28, 2025. A vehicle crashed into the YNOT After School Camp,  resulting in the loss of five young lives and leaving several others injured. In response, the community came together under the banner of “Chatham Strong,” symbolizing resilience, unity, and unwavering support for the families affected by this devastating event.

Chatham Strong Fest: Honoring Lives and Healing Together

Purpose of the Event: Organized to support families affected by the YNOT After School Camp tragedy and to unite the Chatham community.

Date and Venue: Held on July 6, 2025, at Chatham Community Park.

Activities: Featured local bands, food trucks, beverages for all ages, and a silent auction.

Unity Tree: A 15-foot sapling planted near the playground as a living memorial to the five young lives lost.

Fundraising: Proceeds directed to the Glenwood High School Student Council YNOT Fund to assist with funeral, medical, and related expenses.

Community Involvement: Organized by local residents, inspired by the belief that music can heal and bring people together.

Impact: Provided a space for remembrance, healing, and solidarity, demonstrating the resilience and unity of the Chatham community.
